How we supported myenergi, a fast-growing success story
myenergi is a rapidly growing, business specializing in designing and manufacturing products for the Electric Vehicle Charging and Domestic Renewable Energy markets.
Their highly sophisticated technology enables consumers to divert ‘spare sunshine’ from photovoltaic panels into electrical energy for their homes and vehicles.
With clever apps and hub technology, myenergi also allows consumers to regulate their energy use, whether self-generated or direct from the grid.
On a mission to help their customers ‘take their power back’ myenergi are leading the way in eco-smart innovation.
Their challenge
When we got involved with myenergi, back in 2019 (as IT Services) they were facing some challenges due to their rapid growth. As Innovation Director, Dr. Chris Horne explained,
“Our initial problem was that we needed to move away from G-suite to allow us to adopt a new mid-range enterprise system. We’d outgrown Sage and were looking to implement a new finance and sale management system (Interprise), which requires a Microsoft environment.
We were also finding that taking on new starters, handling our data back-ups, and managing our product licenses and data and information security policies were all tasks that were distracting us from our core business.
We’d be setting up new email accounts for new starters and backing up our data outside office hours, in a way that was unsustainable and prone to error. This clearly was introducing unacceptable risks to our operation.”

He went on to explain myenergi’s decision to look to an external IT provider for support.
“If you’re a start-up business you need to focus on what you’re good at and what will bring value to your business. This is unlikely to be looking after your own IT!
